SATA Cargo calls for agents for the digital transformation

To transpose manual processes to digital impacts the entire cargo transport management efficiency. That was SATA Cargo's main message during the meeting, which took place on December 15, in Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores.

The event had the collaboration of business partners involved in air cargo transport, who traveled to the Azores to raise awareness of the benefits of the massive use of dematerialized processes, such as, for example, the transversal adoption of the electronic waybill. (e-AWB).

Francisco Bataglia (representing IATA), Hugo Fonseca and Romeu Klug (representing MAEIL, IS Engineering), and Cristina Toscano (representing CHAMP Cargosystems) joined the meeting and explained the benefits of adopting new technology on air cargo transportation.

The electronic waybill is no longer a novelty at SATA Cargo, it currently represents 65% of the total number of waybills transacted on SATA Air Açores, and only 28% of the complete transactions carried out by Azores Airlines. Although airlines can issue digital waybills, not all agents use the same tool.

Agents were encouraged to participate actively in the collective technological evolution that the SATA Group airlines intend to continue. To promote this evolution, SATA Cargo is preparing an incentive campaign starting in March 2022 and extending it until the end of the same year, encouraging more freight forwarders to bet on the advantages of digital transformation.
