Last Saturday, SATA Group achieved a new record.
August 13, 2022, will be listed as the day on which both SATA airlines (Air Açores and Azores Airlines) carried more passengers than on any other day of its past operation.
The records of its activity had never registered a day with such traffic, which resulted in an intense operation considering the airline’s size.
Altogether, in the whole operation of the two airlines, almost eleven thousand passengers flew with the airlines, more precisely 10,961, a number never reached in a single day of operation. SATA Air Açores carried 4,801 passengers and Azores Airlines 6,160 passengers.
Among last Saturday’s flights, there were passengers from 13 destinations, which include not only Ponta Delgada, Pico, Horta, Terceira, Lisbon, Porto, Funchal, Porto Santo, and Cape Verde, but also New York, Boston, Toronto, and Paris.
As usual, at this time of year, SATA Air Açores constantly flew over the archipelago on its interisland operation, landing one or even several times in each of the nine islands of the Azores.
